Club Covid Update – New Requirements

As a result of a surge of cases amongst our members it is obvious that we all need to tighten up on our Covid controls to reduce risks to our members and visitors.

Current evidence and experience is proving that rapid tests (RAT) are less than reliable until an individuals viral load is high – meaning that in the early days of infection a test may show negative. Many people experiencing flu like symptoms or cold like symptoms are not testing positive until after 2-3 tests. Some people showing symptoms only conduct one test and believe that they have either flu or a cold.

To ensure that a Covid not inadvertantly brought in to the club the following Covid rules are now in place:

  • if you have a sniffle, sore/dry throat, flu like symptoms, or a cold you are not to enter the club for 3 days, perform RAT tests daily or if in doubt and symptoms persist get a PCR test.
  • everyone entering the club are to use the sanitiser provided – strong evidence suggests that hand sanitiser is the most effective means of reducing the risk of catching Covid.
  • until further notice – all members and visitors are urged to wear a mask inside the club, unless drinking or eating.
