Sad Outcome – Club AGM – 25 Nov 21

With no nominations for the Board of Management at the AGM the Chairman the had no choice but to suspend the meeting to be reconvened at 7.00pm on Thursday 2nd December.

As Chairman Ken advised, if a Board of Management cannot be formed at the next meeting the club would be closed as the club cannot operate without a Board of Management.

In the worst case scenario the club would be wound up and the club and its assets would be disposed of. As Ken advised, we cannot allow that to happen.

Our club is possibly in the best financial and administrative position it has been in for many years. On top of that recent Boards have ensured that our infrastructure is sound and seen many improvements in the level of maintenance through upgrades and servicing. To ensure that we continue the good work done by recent Boards it is essential that our members work hard to co-opt members willing to commit to managing our club and to ensure its security into the future.

We have until Thursday 2nd December to ensure that at the next meeting we can form a Board of Management. Unfortunately in forming a Board we do need to ensure that a number of the members have the skills to ensure ongoing good management of our club. The two most key positions are those of Director of Administration and Director of Finance, so if you have good administrative skills/training or Financial management skills and relevant background please seriously consider nominating for one of two positions.
